CRC Winter Chapter Hike -- Little Light Challenge

• Our 11-1/2-mile hike is in Girdled Road Reservation and Cascade Falls Lake Metroparks. (A shorter seven-mile option is available.) We start and end at the parking lot at Skok Meadow so there is no shuttling! Parts of the hike are on the Buckeye Trail.
• Meeting time will be 4:00 pm at the shelter at Skok Meadow at 12415 Concord-Hambden Road, Concord Township, Lake County. .
• Be prompt. We will leave at 4:00 pm! . If you are running a few minutes late, please call me at (440) 487-7376 and be prepared to catch up to the group from the start point. We hike the meadow near the Skok parking lot first, and then head down the hill to the swing bridge. If you must cancel at the last minute, text me as soon as you know.
• You will need to bring a headlamp! It will get dark but this is an excellent hike to try out night hiking for the first time. Most of the trail is wide and well maintained. We will climb and descend hills and staircases. Poles are helpful!
• I will hike rain or shine, but not in dangerous weather. Please check your email the morning of the hike for last minute cancellations. Our usual pace is between 20 and 23 minutes per mile depending upon the group and weather conditions. We stop at two overlooks, a shelter, and a waterfall, plus restrooms as needed, so we will regroup at those stops.
• Check the weather before leaving for the hike. Have layers, raingear, and/or extra clothing, hydration, and snacks as needed. Water is only available at the Skok Meadow parking lot restrooms.
• Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed.
• By attending a hike, you recognize and agree that you are responsible for your own welfare. Know your abilities and hike your own hike!
