Do you play chess or would you like to learn? Every Tuesday we’ll have boards set-up in the central area of the library for anyone who wants to drop-in and play. All levels welcome. You can also pick up a free print guide for new players covering the basics of chess.

Hi there I wonder if you could help. My dad is in the Harbour Rise Care Home in Paignton. He always loved playing chess but he can’t find anyone there who wants to play with him. Do you know anyone who might want/be able to visit him and to play chess with him. I think it would be good for him both to have something to look forward to and also I think it would help slow down the cognitive decline which is inevitable in that environment.
