The Sherwood Forest Celtic Yuletide Festival is almost here and the Forest is ready to welcome you home.
Camping opens Friday at noon on December 12th and remains available through Monday at noon, giving you 3 peaceful nights beneath the trees.
On Friday evening the festival gates open at 6 and the celebration begins soon after as music fills the Elvin Hill stage while the mead flows at Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem and the Yuletide lights glow across the Forest.
On Saturday and Sunday the Sherwood Forest Fairegrounds open at 10 in the morning with more than 30 live bands performing throughout the day and more than 90 artisans and merchants offering handcrafted gifts and festive treasures.
Highland Games athletes will compete all weekend at the Highland Games Arena, the same location where Sherwood holds its jousts during faire season. Nearby, Robert de Bowyer will host a series of archery competitions that always draw an enthusiastic crowd.
This year we are delighted to welcome the most famous holiday duo of all time. Santa and Mrs Claus will be with us during daylight hours on Saturday at the Grove Stage gazebo near the Front Gate. Stop by to share your wishes and take photos. Santa loves to visit with every guest and there is no charge to sit, talk, or take pictures.
Wander through the enchanted woods of Sherwood Forest and enjoy music, dance, Yuletide lights, and Celtic traditions that make this season shine. With food, drink, and shops around every corner, this promises to be the most magical Yuletide yet.
