During COVID-19, Life Directions continues to support job seekers living with self-disclosed disabilities (age 15+) and employers in Grey Highlands and Southgate. Job seeker’s supports: Include talent assessment, online job readiness workshops, customized training and funding, accommodation supports, peer and employer mentorship experiences, assistance with applications and income reporting. Individualized discretionary funds may include:
Certificates – personalized to the jobseeker’s career path
Basic Needs – food, clothing, and grooming funds plus shelter referrals
Communication – phone and internet funds related to employment needs
Transportation – reimbursement for travel to and from employment during placement
Adaptive/assistive technology - personalized to the jobseeker’s career path
Tools and equipment – during training and in the workplace
Employer’s supports: Include pre-screened applicants, individualized candidate training plans, ongoing job coaching, assistance with accommodations and job modifications, wage/training subsidies, and assistance with writing accessibility funding/grant applications.
