Tobias has been playing Sunset Sessions since the start, each time is different, each time is beautiful.

Tobias started his career as part of the Roots Union with BBC Folk Award winners Philip Henry and Hannah Martin.  Their tenure included playing live at Maida Vale Studios for Late Junction and recording in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2012 he formed a duo with Lukas Drinkwater, garnering airplay and kudos from Fresh on net, BBC 6, Radio 2 and BBC Introducing among others.  The 2017 full band album 'A Polyphonic Life' featured an all-star lineup with John Elliott, Tim Heymerdinger of The Little Unsaid, Emily Barker, Philip Henry (Edgelarks) and Lukas Drinkwater. Two songs from the album featured in 'Tomorrow' directed by Martha Pilson with Martin Scorsese as Executive Producer. In 2020 Tobias released 'Refuge', a vibrant new album of electronica-tinged story-songs inspired by the people at the heart of the refugee crisis. The inspiration for the album came after Tobias made contact with Zekira Farzad, an Afghan refugee and former journalist. Talking with Zekira and hearing some of his incredible accounts of courage and hope during a hellish struggle to find a place of safety for his family, Tobias set out to find more of these inspiring human stories through his songwriting. At the moment Tobias is working on a new Album 'The Grand Europa', which will unfold like a series of vignettes; an adventure across old Europe with partisans, spies, artists and bohemians. At the heart of it is a love story in the shadow of war.

Figurehead are an all female shanty group from North Cornwall who share a love of songs with a traditional, nautical and maritime flavour. If it contains a reference, however slight, to water, it's considered fair game.

Over the years the personnel have changed but the love of singing in harmony together and entertaining people with foot stomping songs and shanties remains constant.
