What Makes a Rigorous Quantitative Social Research?

The Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Padua is hosting round table "What Makes a Rigorous Quantitative Social Research? A discussion with David Bartram, Editor of Social Indicators Research", an event to explore key challenges researchers face in doing quantitative research in the social sciences. Key topics will include, but are not limited to:
(1) estimating causal effects with observational data;
(2) measuring complex phenomena;
(3) assessing the practical significance of estimates beyond their statistical significance.
