«Una delle realtà post-punk più ispirate per pathos estetico-musicale» secondo Rockerilla, i Moth's Tales nascono a Udine nel 2002, dall'incontro tra il chitarrista Michele Rossi e il bassista Roberto Battilana.
Il loro stile è caratterizzato da suoni e ritmi essenziali, densi ed evocativi, frutto di varie influenze tra il post-punk e l'alternative rock, con testi in lingua inglese introspettivi e volti alla ricerca di una catarsi.
Il primo album "Decadent Truth" (2003) gode del sostegno di Giuseppe Zigaina, che approva e sostiene l'utilizzo di una sua opera per la copertina. Seguono altri tre album, tra i quali "Unknown Portrait" (2008) per la Nomadism Records.
Nel 2010 pubblicano "Burying Ophelia", co-prodotto da Enrico Berto (Bugo, Amari, Sick Tamburo) con Tony Longheu come ospite. Il più noto critico goth/post-punk Mick Mercer lo elegge tra i migliori album dell'anno, e l'omonimo singolo è promosso da un cortometraggio di Michele Furfari presentato al Cinema "Visionario" di Udine. La band è citata nel libro "Music To Die For" di Mick Mercer (2009).
Dopo alcuni anni di live acustici, la band è tornata in trio elettrico grazie all'arrivo del nuovo batterista Sebastiano Belli e sta preparando un nuovo album, il primo dopo oltre 15 anni.
