Join us for a scenic 9-mile new OAC adventure through two beautiful parks in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. With about 1,800 feet of elevation gain, this hike will showcase an impressive variety of landscapes, from dramatic ocean bluffs and coastal shrublands to open ridge tops dotted with seasonal wildflowers.

We'll begin at Mori Point, where trails wind along spectacular seaside bluffs with sweeping views up and down the San Mateo County coast. Listen to the surf crashing against the cliffs below as we make our way through this picturesque coastal preserve.

From there, we'll tackle the steady climb up Sweeney Ridge, where panoramic views extend across San Francisco Bay, the Pacific Ocean, and the surrounding Peninsula. Along the way, we'll visit one of California's most historically significant sites—the ridge where members of the Portolá expedition became the first Europeans known to view San Francisco Bay in 1769.

This rewarding hike combines breathtaking scenery, fascinating history, and a great workout, making it an excellent way to experience the diverse beauty of the Pacifica coastline.
