Our co-hosts, Resilient Palisades, in partnership with TreePeople, planted twelve native trees in January 2026 on this spot in honor of the lives that were lost during the Palilsades Fire. We wish to continue honoring these victims and Palisades community by removing fast growing invasive plants and letting the beautiful, native habitat have a chance to return to the canyon.Since this is a restoration work day, we ask that you carefully read our preperation instructions.We can only allow volunteers 14 years or older to participate in the restoration work. We appreciate your understanding.These invasive plants need careful handeling. Not only do we need to ensure we do not spread their seeds, but these plants can also be spikey or cause irritation to bare skin. Please wear protective clothing including long pants (jeans recommended), long sleeves, and close-toed shoes.We also recommend you bring work gloves, eye protection (glasses or goggles), and a reusable waterbottle. We will have some extra supplies and water onsite, but cannot gaurantee extra protective gear for everyone.We also recommend you bring a trovel or Hori soil knife and a gardening knee pad if you have these at home. Many of the plants will be pulled by hand.Our team will provide extra snacks and sunscreen, but we encourage you to bring your own as well.Free street parking is available.The nearest restrooms are near the playground, about a 10 minute walk downhill from the site.
