The mayors of Ozark and Nixa are challenging their communities to give blood to help their friends and neighbors!
The rival cities are teaming up with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks and organizing a friendly competition to see which community can recruit the most blood donors. Ozark, Nixa, and the CBCO are offering some great rewards to all donors who answer the call to help local hospital patients.

Across the Ozarks, someoneβs friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor or loved one needs blood every seven minutes. CBCO is the sole provider of blood, platelets and plasma to over 40 hospitals in northwest Arkansas, southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas. One blood donation can help as many as three people in these local hospitals.

Donors are asked to take a few steps to ensure donations operate smoothly on the day of the drive:
1. Drink plenty of water or juice the night and morning before you donate.
2. Eat a well-balanced meal around 2-3 hours before giving.
3. Bring your photo identification β this is now required for all donors!
