Facility Info & Amenities:
Prohibited Items: Please, NO glass, coolers, or outside food. One non-alcoholic single-serve beverage (like a Gatorade or soda) is allowed per person. You'll be asked to return any prohibited items to your vehicle. Comfort: We have chairs and tables available, so no need to bring your own.

Doubles Rules (applies to all divisons)

The 3-Touch Rule (and Blocking): Teams get a maximum of 3 touches to return the ball. If you block the ball, your team only has two touches left, but the blocker is allowed to make the immediate second contact.
Receiving the Ball with Your Hands (First Contact): When receiving a serve or a free ball, you are strictly prohibited from using an open-handed setting motion (unless the contact is absolutely flawless). Instead, you must use your forearms (a bump), a "tomahawk" (hands clasped together overhead), or another completely closed-hand technique. The only time you can use open hands on a first contact is when reacting defensively to a hard-driven spike.
Double Contact on the First Hit: When receiving the ball from the opponent (your team's first contact), a "double contact" is completely legal as long as it happens during one single, continuous motion (for example, the ball ricochets off your forearms and then your shoulder). The exception: This leeway does not apply if you use an open-hand setting motion, which must be perfectly clean unless you are defending a hard-driven spike.
No Open-Hand Tipping: You cannot softly tip or dink the ball over the net with an open hand. You must use a rigid, closed fist (like a "cobra" poke), your knuckles, or a firm hit.
Setting: The ball cannot have significant spin after it leaves your hands
Setting Over the Net: If you send the ball over the net using an overhead set, your shoulders must be completely squared up to the direction of the ball—either directly facing your target or directly backwards. Setting sideways over the net is a fault.
Net Play: Touching any part of the net during play is a fault. You are allowed to cross under the net into the opponent's side, provided it doesn't interfere with their ability to play the ball.
Switching Sides: To equalize the elements (sun, wind, and sand conditions), teams switch sides of the court every 7 points.
