The Rivershed Ultimate Chef's Table - August 28th
Every second Wednesday (starting July 17th) in July & August, we invite tourists and Islanders alike to enjoy the talents of Murphy Hospitality Group at The Rivershed Events Centre. Your host, Chef Kyle Panton of Sims Corner Steakhouse & Oyster Bar will help you explore what it means to prepare and curate a locally inspired Prince Edward Island meal. Joined by culinary experts from the Murphy Hospitality Group as guest hosts this is a must-attend event as The Rivershed Ultimate Chefs Table is a one-stop shop for a culinary adventure on PEI.
Each event starts out with a reception on The Rivershed patio looking out towards the beautiful Wheatley River. Then you experience a family-style five-course meal in collaboration with Chef Kyle Panton and his guests, all with hospitality, freshness and sustainability in mind. Drink pairings with each course too – can’t go wrong!
Chef Kyle is thrilled to embark for a season on this series. “I love the ability to showcase the islands great resources of local products and being able to present these products on our harvest table at the river shed is only going to help magnify how great we do it here on PEI. Family style service is taking it back to the way it used to be. Being able to mingle while enjoying a great meal! There’s something to be said about it!”

ABOUT CHEF KYLE:
One of the Island’s foremost culinary talents and homegrown chefs, Kyle Panton embraces a passion and philosophy that reflects a down to earth approach to preparing dishes from the abundance of PEI’s natural ingredients.
His love of cooking was ignited at an early age watching his mother prepare family meals at his home in Belfast, PEI. He graduated from the world-renowned Culinary Institute of Canada and has apprenticed in Toronto under David Lee of Nota Bene and Victor Berry of Splendido and the County General.
He has been recognized locally and internationally for his ability to create award-winning dishes using fresh locally sourced products. In 2012, Chef Kyle, was named the PEI Savor local food winner, an award that celebrates and identifies the Island’s food culture. In 2013 he was awarded the prestigious International Seafood Chowder Competition which is part of the PEI Shellfish Festival. In 2014 he captured PEI’s Most Loved Burger, part of PEI Burger love Campaign.
When the apron is off, Kyle enjoys spending time with his family and depending on the season, working on his organic vegetable garden, hunting or playing hockey. He enjoys being a part of the vibrant culinary culture on the Island and looks forward to help shape the future of PEI’s food industry.
Each event runs 6:00pm - 9:30pm.
Ticket prices start at $99, plus tax and gratuity and includes a 5-course meal.
