Our curated day events are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while igniting your creative spark.We’re exploring Oxford’s scenic spring nature on a diverse walk along historic streets, quiet canals, grand parks, and the Thames Path, starting and ending right from Oxford train station. Enjoy an adventure through the iconic city and landscape that has inspired authors, poets, and artists for hundreds of years. This is a good longer walk for beginners as it is all over flat ground.The walk will be led by Walcott, they are outdoor first aid trained.Start Location: Oxford stationDate: Saturday 28th March 2026Meeting time: 10:45amStart time: 11am (approx.)Distance: 15kmWe will be taking it at a leisurely pace, with a break for lunch. There are public toilets at the start/end and at points along the walk.Difficulty: ModerateAge: 18+Who is this for? This is an exclusive event for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour. Refunds will not be given if you ignore this message.Please familiarise yourself with our Community AgreementCost: There is a sliding pay what you can cost for this event, as well as a pay it forward option for those in the community who can afford to give a bit more. If you're unable to attend because of cost, please reach out via email and we'll help. This system means that we can continue to put on low cost and/or free events, support those in our community who are financially constrained and compensate our facilitators.If you are struggling to cover your travel to this hike, please reach out and we will be able to contribute to the cost.What to bring:? A 2020 report by Friends of the Earth found that nearly 40% of people from minority ethnic backgrounds in England live in the most green space-deprived neighbourhoods, compared with only 14% of white people — and that people from minority ethnic backgrounds are significantly less likely to spend time in the countryside than white people. We want to change this.
