Following our fantastic sold-out 2025 Vasilopita event, we are excited to present to you our Vasilopita Party for 2026! We’re staying at the fantastic Taproom @ The Tap Social Movement in Botley, and we're flying the amazing traditional Greek band 'Idones' direct from Serres, Greece to take you on a musical journey around Greece in what will be their DEBUT UK PERFORMANCE!
Oxford Greek Dancing invites you to an evening of traditional Greek music and dancing and the cutting of the Vasilopita (the Greek New Year's cake). Will you be the lucky one to find the coin in the cake?
Oxford Greek Dancing will give a display of traditional Greek dancing. The floor will then be opened up for the 'glendi' and we invite you all to come and dance until you drop.

About The Band
Ήδωνες / Idones
The traditional music group "Idones" was founded in 2011 by young musicians who love tradition and is based in the city of Serres. The Idones were a powerful people of Ancient Thrace who lived between the rivers Nestos and Strymonas.

About the venue:

The Taproom will be operating a full bar with, of course, their range of amazing craft beers, spirits, and cocktails. They will also be operating a pizza kitchen where you will be able to buy a range of freshly cooked pizzas to enjoy inside!

Getting Here:
We recommend coming to the venue by bus. There are frequent services to and from Oxford Railway Station and the journey takes just over 5 minutes. Get off at the 'Minns Industrial Estate' bus stop.
There is limited free parking on the industrial estate – Car number plates must be registered at the bar! However, we recommend parking at Seacourt Park and Ride or the West Way Shopping Centre - both just a short walk away.
The venue also has cycle racks for cyclists.

Come one, come all!
Dogs, kids, grandparents, everyone is welcome!
