Getting bored of running the same routes? Fancy seeing Oxford in a new light? Why not try orienteering!

Orienteering combines running with a navigational challenge where you have to figure out the best route round the course as you go - it's a great way to explore new parts of the local area and meet like-minded people.

This is the first event in a new series of MapRun orienteering events organised in a collaboration between the Oxford University Orienteering Club (OUOC) and Thames Valley Orienteering Club (TVOC).

These events are open to both experienced orienteers and newcomers wanting to try out the sport. The events are friendly and casual and will finish up with a chat in the pub afterwards. All you need is a phone, shoes you can run in and (ideally) a headtorch.

This week's event starts from The Star pub (starts 18:00-18:30) and is a 6km line course around SE Oxford, offering route choice galore! We'd love to see you there!
