These award-winning musicians embody the freshness of a new generation of trad artists. Drawing on the traditional repertoires of Gascony, Brittany, Poitou, the Basque Country and Central France, their music combines traditional tunes and original compositions through unique arrangements. Diatonic accordian, clarinet, hurdy-gurdy, violin, and boha (bagpipes from Gascony) intertwine with voices to create a soundscape that is both rich and refined. The line-up is Lucie Laigle - hurdy gurdy, vocals; Naël Tripoli - boha, diatonic accordian; Anaïs Perrinel - violin, vocals; Gabriel Chiapello -diatonic accordian, clarinet. If balfolk is something new to you, Kerry will introduce the basic steps so you can you can enjoy dancing with confidence. Her infectious enthusiasm, bredth of knowledge and clear communication style make her the UK's go-to balfolk dance teacher. There is a licensed bar with ale, cider, wine and soft drinks. There is level access into Kennington Village Hall with a ramp at the front of the centre. An accessible toilet is available. Lighting is a combination of the standard lights in the hall, and some coloured stage lighting. We do not use flashing lights. There is a quieter area in the lobby, which is next to the hall but also separate from it. During this event, teachers will not not use gendered terms.
