On February 14, Owls Head Transportation Museum welcomes past volunteer and local mechanic Philip Reinhardt for a Winter Education Lecture. He’ll share his journey from a curious kid turning wrenches to a professional restorer working on remarkable machines, reflecting on early inspiration, years volunteering at Owls Head, advanced training in antique automotive restoration at McPherson College, the only 4 year program for antique automotive restoration in the country, and the realities of running a restoration shop today.

Along the way, Philip will highlight memorable projects - including a 1962 Jaguar XKE Series I V8 Special, Period Built Racer that will be on display. Hear its incredible story, from barn find to full restoration, and discover the engineering, problem-solving, and creativity behind bringing this historic car back to life.

The lecture begins at 1:00 PM and runs approximately 45 minutes. Kids can also enjoy STEM Saturday - Be My STEM Valentine from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

This lecture is a rare opportunity to see how passion, education, and hands-on experience come together to preserve automotive history. It’s designed for all ages - students exploring new interests, adults curious about how things work, and anyone who values learning by doing.
