At this event, elementary-aged children will do fun activities and read out loud to teen volunteers. Teen volunteers can earn one (1) service learning hour for participating. It's a great way to socialize and build reading confidence!
Does your K-5th grade child love to read out loud, or needs help building reading confidence? Here's the chance for everyone to practice in a safe and welcoming space!
How it works for young readers:
- Register for this event.
- Bring your favorite books or pick one of ours when you get here--we have plenty!
- Stuffed animals are welcome!
- Read and engage in fun activities with teen volunteers.
- Have fun!
How it works for Teen Reading Buddies:
- Register for the Reading Buddies - Teen Buddy event.
- Read and engage in fun activities with young readers to build their confidence.
- Earn one (1) service learning hour for school!
Reading Buddies is a space for K-5 graders to practice reading in a relaxed and welcoming group! Reading Buddies inspires a love of reading, offers great social activities for children and teens, and promotes positive interactions between children of all ages. Teens earn a service learning hour by participating in a meaningful experience by encouraging children and helping them with their reading skills.
