Realistic Drawing for Beginners with Lesley Bankes

Learn to draw right from the start in this six-week course. You’ll focus on building a strong foundation—capturing the outside line with accuracy, understanding where and how to shade, exploring textures, and learning perspective. You’ll also develop confidence in composition while discovering your own creative style. Lesley Bankes has been teaching realistic drawing for over 20 years. Before teaching full time, she managed the Shuswap Art Shoppe, an art supply and picture framing store in BC, bringing both artistic and industry expertise to her classes.

Dates: Thursday November 6, 13, 20, 27, and December 4 and 11, 2025.
Time: 6:00 – 7:00 pm each week
Cost: $90 for all six sessions
Material fee: $1 payable to the instructor at the first session
