As part of Oulu 2026 European Capital of Culture, OMVF has launched its first European Music Video Competition, expanding from 2025’s Nordic Music Video Competition. The festival also includes a separate Finnish Music Video Competition, which has taken place annually since 1994.

Maailman vanhin musiikkivideofestivaali OMVF järjestetään 33. kertaa Oulussa 27.–30. elokuuta!

Festivaali esittelee monipuolisen kokonaisuuden musiikkivideoita, elokuvia, live-esityksiä, näyttelyitä, työpajoja ja verkostoitumistapahtumia. 

Osana Oulu2026 Euroopan kulttuuripääkaupunkivuotta OMVF käynnistää ensimmäisen eurooppalaisen musiikkivideokilpailun. Ohjelmistoon kuuluu myös vuodesta 1994 lähtien vuosittain järjestetty suomalainen musiikkivideokilpailu.

Vuoden 2026 festivaalin teema on Hauntopolis. Oulu muuttuu väliaikaiseksi musiikkivideo- ja elokuvakaupungiksi, jossa menneisyys, nykyhetki ja kuvitellut tulevaisuudet kohtaavat.

Festivaalin avajaisnäytöksessä nähdään live-esitys Derek Jarmanin mestariteoksesta Blue ja ohjelmisto kokonaisuudessaan löytyy osoitteesta www.omvf.net
