La 12e édition du In-Out Dance and World Arts Festival lance un appel à projets pour la sélection d’œuvres artistiques audacieuses, originales et accessibles à tous les publics.

Ce festival international des arts vivants se déroulera du 20 au 27 décembre 2025 à Bobo-Dioulasso, avec des actions dans d'autres localités rurales de la région.

Avec la danse comme colonne centrale, le festival ouvre également ses scènes et espaces publics à la musique, au théâtre, au conte et au défilé de mode. Nous recherchons des propositions créatives, ancrées dans les réalités sociales, politiques, écologiques ou poétiques de notre époque.



The 12th edition of the In-Out Dance and World Arts Festival invites proposals for bold, original, and accessible works of art. This international festival of live performance will take place in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, with extensions in nearby rural communities from December 20 to 27, 2025.

With dance as the festival’s central pillar, the program also welcomes music, theatre, storytelling, and fashion performance in public and unconventional spaces. We are looking for creative works rooted in social, political, ecological, or poetic realities of our time.

1. Le Festival

Créé en 2014 par La Compagnie Tamadia, le In-Out Dance and World Arts Festival est un événement artistique international qui investit une grande variété d’espaces :
rues, marchés, places publiques, cours familiales, prisons, camps militaires, salles de spectacle et lieux non conventionnels, afin de rapprocher les œuvres du plus grand nombre.

Chaque année, le festival rassemble des milliers d’artistes, spectateurs et citoyen·ne·s. Il célèbre les arts sous toutes leurs formes, en favorisant la décentralisation culturelle, l’émergence de nouveaux talents et la rencontre interculturelle.

Des artistes du Burkina Faso, d’Afrique, d’Asie, d’Amérique, d’Europe et d’Océanie y prennent part chaque année.

1. About the Festival

Founded in 2014 by La Compagnie Tamadia, the In-Out Dance and World Arts Festival is an international multidisciplinary festival that brings art to unconventional and everyday spaces:
streets, markets, public squares, family courtyards, prisons, military camps, and theaters — breaking boundaries to reach underserved and diverse audiences.

Each year, the festival gathers thousands of artists, spectators, and engaged citizens. It celebrates the arts in all forms while promoting cultural decentralization, the emergence of new voices, and cross-cultural dialogue.

Artists come from Burkina Faso, across Africa, and from Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania.



2. Nous recherchons

L’appel à projets concerne les formes artistiques suivantes :

Pièces chorégraphiques (danse contemporaine, traditionnelle)

Performances musicales (solo, groupes, tous genres)

Créations théâtrales (formes courtes adaptées à l’espace public)

Spectacles de conte (oralité classique ou moderne, narration poétique ou engagée)

Défilés de mode performatifs (création textile, mode contemporaine ou traditionnelle)

Les œuvres doivent être conçues pour l’espace public ou adaptables à des lieux alternatifs.

? Les artistes et compagnies professionnel·le·s du monde entier peuvent candidater.
? Il est possible de soumettre plusieurs propositions artistiques.



2. We are looking for proposals in the following categories:

Choreographic works (contemporary, urban, traditional dance)

Musical performances (solo or group, all genres)

Theatrical creations (short formats for public space)

Storytelling performances (traditional, modern, urban, poetic)

Fashion performances (traditional, contemporary, activist, or narrative-based)

? All proposed works must be designed for public space or easily adaptable to alternative settings.

? Professional artists and companies from all over the world are welcome to apply.

? Applicants may submit multiple artistic proposals.

3. Critères de sélection

Les œuvres soumises doivent :

Avoir une durée minimum de 20 minutes

Avoir été créées après janvier 2023

Pouvoir se présenter avec des moyens techniques légers

Être adaptables à divers espaces (rue, a meme le sol, marché, prison, cour familiale, plateau)

Être présentables plusieurs fois pendant le festival

? Les projets portés ou co-dirigés par des femmes, des artistes émergents ou des personnes issues de communautés marginalisées sont vivement encouragés.



3. Selection Criteria

Eligible works must:

Be a minimum of 20 minutes in duration

Have been created after January 2023

Be technically lightweight and easy to present

Be highly adaptable to various sites (streets, open grounds, markets, prisons, family courtyards, theaters)

Be performable multiple times throughout the festival period

? Projects led or co-led by women, emerging artists, and artists from marginalized communities are strongly encouraged to apply.



4. Conditions de participation

Les frais de transport international et national aller-retour sont à la charge des artistes ou compagnies.

L’hébergement est également à leur charge. Toutefois, le festival pourra proposer des pistes de solutions locales abordables.

Le festival prend en charge la restauration (repas sur place) durant toute la durée de participation.

Toute autre prise en charge (accueil, transport interne, cachet, per diem) pourra faire l’objet d’une discussion au cas par cas, en fonction des ressources et partenariats disponibles.

4. Participation Conditions

Artists and companies are responsible for securing and covering their own round-trip travel costs from their location to Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.

Accommodation is also the responsibility of the artists; however, the festival team can suggest local affordable housing options.

The festival will provide meals (on-site catering) throughout the duration of your participation.

Any additional support (local transport, per diem, artist fees, etc.) may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on available resources and partnerships.
