- **Event Description**: This course is for anyone who wants to use the following tools in our WorkSpace: planer, jointer, and table saw.About this EventThis WorkSpace Safety course will teach you the safe handling of the big power tools and you will learn how to set them up for your own usage and work project. The instructor will give detailed explanations of how to safely use the jointer, planer, and table saw. Participants will use their newfound knowledge to use all the tools and take home a small hardwood cutting board.This is also a required course for anyone who wants to use the above tools in our WorkSpace.Every workshop attendee gets a free 3 hour pass to our WorkSpace (value $26). Pass needs to be used within one month of this workshop.Please dress appropriately for working in a woodshop: closed-toe shoes, hair tied in the back, and no loose clothing. It's important to be on time for this workshop as this is a safety course and all information is important. Late arrivals may not be able to join.For more information on our WorkSpace and when you can use it to work on your projects, check out the OTL website. NOTES:a) Workshops are transferable to another person and only refundable if we have people on the waiting list who can take your spot. Please make sure this date works with your schedule.b) Member-rate tickets are reserved for current Ottawa Tool Library members. If a non-member registers at the member rate, we will follow up to collect the price difference plus a $15 administrative fee.c) If you are registering for a young person, please note that children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket for the same workshop. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in many of our workshops (other than Tinkering School and some demo nights).
