Yin postures apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body such as the tendons, fascia and ligaments, with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. 

Yin yoga encourages you to find a comfortable “edge” (or sustainable position of comfort), to commit to stillness, and to commit to staying in the pose for some time. 

Using the wall as a prop for comfort and support allows for a soothing, relaxing and restorative practice.
