From the smoky cafés of Paris to the sparkling dance halls of the South America, this evening’s program takes you on a musical journey through the jazz-infused elegance of the Roaring ’20s to the opulent Art Deco era.
Renowned mezzo-soprano Julie Nesrallah brings to life the smoldering torch songs of the 1920s through the crooning 1950s, reimagined with lush classical chamber arrangements. An 11-piece Chamberfest ensemble provides a rich sonic backdrop, while our beloved Chamberfriends the Gryphon Trio and pianist Katherine Dowling enrich the evening with cameo performances.
Experience a golden age of chamber music through one-of-a-kind arrangements and seldom-performed French repertoire, blending vintage allure with classic sophistication.

La réputée mezzo-soprano Julie Nesrallah redonne vie aux chansons de charme des années 1920 jusqu’aux années 1950, réimaginées avec de luxuriants arrangements classiques pour musique de chambre. Un ensemble de 11 musiciens de Chamberfest offre un accompagnement riche et texturé, tandis que nos chers amis du Gryphon Trio et la pianiste Katherine Dowling viennent illuminer la soirée de leurs apparitions spéciales.
