Originally from Venezuela, she developed a deep appreciation for realism through detailed landscapes, still life, and portraits. After a 20-year hiatus, she rekindled her passion for painting, studying under renowned artist Lorne Winters from 2017 to 2023. During this time, she refined her techniques and expanded her artistic vision. In recent years, Diana has also embraced acrylic painting, exploring texture, depth, and expressive mark-making both in studio and plein air settings. She incorporates dimensional techniques using modelling paste and layered applications to create tactile surfaces that enhance light, structure, and visual impact. Her work combines technical sensitivity with emotional expression, allowing her to capture atmosphere, presence, and movement across different media.Drawn to watercolour’s fluidity and expressive nature, Diana allows the medium to guide moments of spontaneity and connection. She has exhibited her work in local art collectives and has contributed to multiple charity auctions. Passionate about teaching, she shares her expertise through workshops, guiding students of all levels to develop their skills, confidence, and artistic voices. Diana believes art is a transformative experience—one that fosters creativity, mindfulness, and connection.MATERIALS NEEDEDWhat Participants Must Bring:Participants are required to bring the following materials to each session:1 sketchbook or mixed media pad (9 x 12 IN or similar)4 canvas boards (9 x 12 IN or 11 x 14 IN recommended)Portable palette (stay-wet palette if possible)Water container with lidApron or painting clothesStudents enrolled in our workshops and classes receive 10% off art supplies in-store during the duration of their course.

We began as a photographic supply store founded by picture enthusiast Sam Wallack. In the mid-1950’s, Wallack’s expanded from the original narrow shop on Bank street into the empty store next to it to offer more selection of art and hobby supplies, as well as more display space for original art. When his son John Wallack came on board in 1963, the company expanded to include art supplies for an emerging Canadian arts scene. The need for a gallery became apparent and Wallack Galleries was launched in the 1950s. By 1965, the business was organized under different branches: the gallery was for acquisitions and sales, while the art-making and framing needs were supplied by the Wallack’s group of stores. In 1977, John Wallack moved the existing art material business to 231 Bank Street, which was originally Hartman’s grocery store. He also expanded the fine art gallery to its own location at 203 Bank Street. In 2024, Michael Wallack, son of John, moved the store to its current location at 305 Bank Street. For over 80 years, Wallack’s has been committed to supplying creative people with quality products at competitive prices. Wallack’s reputation is built on offering a wide selection of brand name artist materials, service by friendly knowledgeable staff, and quick and efficient delivery across Canada. Educational programming also continues to be a cornerstone of the Wallack's institution, with knowledgeable staff to provide instruction through workshops and events in a diverse range of creative mediums and disciplines."
