Your muscles may be sore the next day.Your instructor, Rachael Martin, is a traditional broom maker and craft educator with a passion for preserving and sharing the art of handcrafted broom making. Attempting her first hand broom in 2019, she fell in love with the process. Drawn to the beauty of natural materials and time-honoured techniques, she creates functional brooms that celebrate both craftsmanship, history and art. Her work combines practical skill with storytelling, exploring the cultural traditions, folklore, and everyday significance of brooms throughout history. Through workshops and demonstrations, she strives to make this unique craft accessible to others, inspiring people to slow down, work with their hands, and discover the satisfaction of creating something both beautiful and useful.NOTES:a) Workshops are transferable to another person and only refundable if we have people on the waiting list who can take your spot.
