Black History Month workshops with Moov Ottawa Dance

Join Valentina Solis for a hip-hop dance workshop for teens and adults (aged 16 and over). Rooted in Black communities in the United States, hip-hop emerged as a form of expression, storytelling, and cultural exchange, and continues to evolve through freestyle, social dance, and choreography.

Valentina will guide participants of all levels through hip-hop foundations, groove, and musicality, building toward a short choreography in an accessible and fun way. A DJ will be playing hip-hop music throughout the workshop to create a high-energy, party-style atmosphere rooted in hip-hop culture.

No prior dance experience is required.

Presented by Moov Ottawa Dance, supported by the National Arts Centre.

Ateliers à l’occasion du Mois de l’histoire des Noirs avec Moov Ottawa Dance

Retrouvez Valentina Solis pour un atelier de danse hip-hop destiné aux ados et aux adultes (à partir de 16 ans). Enraciné dans les communautés noires des États-Unis, le hip-hop est né comme une forme d’expression, de récit et d’échange culturel et continue d’évoluer grâce au freestyle, à la danse sociale et à la chorégraphie.

Valentina Solis initiera les participantes et participants de tous niveaux aux rudiments du hip-hop, à son groove et à sa musicalité, en élaborant une courte chorégraphie accessible et ludique. Une DJ sera aux platines tout au long de l’atelier pour créer une atmosphère survitaminée et festive sous le signe de la culture hip-hop.

Aucune expérience préalable en danse n’est requise.
