Ike Reilly
“I’m the king of Music Row,” says Ike Reilly, standing outside his Libertyville, Illinois recording studio—a 100-year-old bungalow wedged between a nail salon and an insurance agency. For the former gravedigger and doorman, that house is Music Row. It’s where he has crafted his entire catalog, never leaving his hometown, unlike fellow Libertyville natives Marlon Brando, Tom Morello, and Adam Jones.
Reilly has spent decades raising a family, touring America both solo and with his ferocious band, The Ike Reilly Assassination, and spinning dark, funny, and poignant stories from the Midwest and beyond. As Morello puts it, “These homogeneous Midwestern towns can forge rebels, and Ike Reilly is just that. You can hear it in all his songs.”
Since his explosive major-label debut, Salesmen and Racists, Reilly has built a catalog of punk, folk, country, and blues-driven rock ’n’ roll that’s both cinematic and poetic. His work has earned critical praise and a fiercely loyal fan base spanning dive bars to literary giants—Stephen King once called his song “Boltcutter” the best to emerge from the Trump era. The New York Times even declared his band among the best live acts in America.
Reilly’s latest record, Because the Angels, showcases both his ferocity and tenderness. From the pounding groove of “Ashes to Ashes” to the pandemic-era intimacy of “Trick of the Light”—which features his sons Shane, Kevin, and Mickey—Reilly’s songs are brimming with grit, beauty, humor, and rebellion. Whether telling stories of riots in Kenosha or a W**d-seeking wanderer at the Muhammad Ali Museum, his songs hold a cracked mirror up to American life.
Reilly himself sums it up best: “Take these stories, this band, and my boys on top of it—we know we made a great record. Just listen.”
Dan Hubbard (Host)
Hosting the evening is Illinois native Dan Hubbard, a seasoned singer-songwriter who has spent over two decades carving out a reputation as one of the Midwest’s most honest and enduring artists. With ten studio projects, countless miles on the road, and a devoted fan base, Hubbard’s music blends timeless sincerity with wide-reaching appeal.
Known for his heartfelt lyrics and memorable melodies, Hubbard has been praised as “beautiful, powerful, and often seemingly effortless.” His upcoming two-part EP project, beginning with Vol. 1: Letting Go (fall 2025), showcases both his maturity as a songwriter and his restless creative spirit. Hubbard’s gift lies in connection—inviting listeners into stories that feel lived-in, personal, and true.
