Experience the charm of historic Cumberland in a tour that combines exquisite gardens and creations by talented local artists. The Cumberland Art and Garden Tour features four diverse gardens, with artwork for sale at five locations. The self-guided tour is free and can be done in any order. You’ll meet some of the artists and gardeners who make our community unique.

Tour at a glance:
Danielle Beaulieu and Brian Phillips – 1268 Jules Leger Drive
The home of this artist couple features a large country garden with a stunning perennial plant collection enhanced by sculptures and architectural structures. Danielle is an award-winning watercolourist and Brian is a marquetry artist. Both artists will display work for sale.

Backyard Blooms – Laura Lyons and Jeff Inniger - 961 Kevin Crescent
Laura creates distinctive bouquets from her home cutting garden. She also makes small stained-glass pieces and botanical themed works in clay.

Anne and Bob Hawley – 2530 Old Montreal Road
The couple’s delightful 1867 home features a welcoming front garden and a large yard filled with flowers, sculptures and curios. Guest artists Janis Fulton and Kerstin Peters will paint in the garden and display some of their work.

Maple Hall - 2552 Old Montreal Road
Four local artists have work for show and sale, plus light refreshments offered by the Cumberland Lions Club. Artists include: journal designer and creator Susan Ashbrook, rug-hooker and watercolour painter Judy Conn, photographer Joan Kallio and cross-stitch artist Maggie Lalonde.

Rebecca Dufton and David Millen – 1682 Beckett’s Creek Road
This artist couple created a large naturalistic garden on a wooded ravine, leading down to a waterfall. The property features two ponds, perennial beds, a vegetable garden and very little lawn. Rebecca is an artist, writer, gardener, community advocate and avid dog lover. In addition to her artwork, she will have copies of her memoir, Gone to the Dogs, available for sale. David built all of the wood and stone structures for the garden and created the two water gardens. He is a wood-worker and sculptor.
