If time permits, students may get a chance to cut a hexagon shape with the bandsaw.All students will take home a completed planter which makes for an amazing decorative feature at home, or a thoughtful gift.This course is a great starting point for making your own planters in different shapes and sizes. Please note this project is intended for artificial plants (no maintenance!) and not designed to hold water.Your instructor, Martin Torch-Ishii, has been woodworking for nine years and specializes in custom, heirloom frames for photos, artwork, posters, and mirrors. He has also built hundreds of succulent planters both for sale and as gifts. Martin has collaborated with influential woodworkers and is experienced in safety, design, sharpening, finishing, and proper operation of power/ hand tools. He is excited to share his knowledge and passion of woodworking with others in the Ottawa Tool Libary community.NOTES:a) Workshops are transferable to another person and only refundable if we have people on the waiting list who can take your spot.
