Minogue - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 09 Jan, 2027 at 09:30 am – Sat, 09 Jan, 2027 at 03:30 pm (-05:00) - **Event Description**: This fun, six day course on bookbinding builds on BB1.About this EventBookbinding 2SATURDAY and SUNDAY for three weekends: January 9-10, 16-17,23-24, 20279:30am - 4:30pm each day (with lunch break, please bring lunch)This core curriculum course builds on the Bookbinding 1.The workshop guides students through intermediate bookbinding techniques, such as rounding and backing, trimming a textblock, and sewn end bands necessary for traditional binding structures. Participants will complete (at minimum) two models bookbinding models: one rounded and backed case binding with full paste paper cover, and one cloth and marbled paper binding covered "in-boards". There will be the option to complete two other small sized version of the bindings, depending on the time available for the individual student.This workshop will focus on developing new skills and place strong emphasis on refinining through practice the techniques learned in BB1. Participants will learn with a combination of professional tools as well as have the opportunity to use equipment variations for at-home binding.Instructor : Spike Minogue, CBBAG Certified, North Bennett Street School Bookbinding Diploma (Boston, MA)This workshop is the second of the CBBAG core curriculum workshops and is a prerequisite for CBBAG Bookbinding III.Materials costs are included in the workshop fees.Participants must be CBBAG members (student or full member) to join this course.
