Ready to try your hand at stained glass? We are hosting an in-depth, beginner-friendly 6 hour Introduction to Stained Glass workshop on January 31, 2026!
Rooted in The Collective Heart Creative’s mission to expand access to arts education and skill-building, this workshop emphasizes learning by doing, thoughtful guidance, and creative confidence in a supportive, community-centered studio environment.
Join The Collective Heart Creative for an immersive, hands-on stained glass workshop. This beginner friendly class is suitable for those with no prior experience and those wanting to learn/practice the process from start to finish with guidance. This full-day experience walks participants through the complete process of creating a stained glass sun catcher from start to finish, using the copper foil method.
Participants will choose from several pattern options and select their own glass to create a one-of-a-kind piece. Each step of the process will be demonstrated, with individualized instruction and troubleshooting support throughout the day.
What You’ll Learn
-Cutting glass pieces using a vinyl pattern
-Grinding glass for a precise fit
-Foiling glass pieces correctly
-Achieving smooth, seamless solder lines
-Creating and attaching custom jump rings
-Beading edges vs. tinning techniques
-Pro tips for clean, consistent results
-Troubleshooting common issues and pivoting when things don’t go as planned
-Cleaning and polishing finished stained glass pieces
What’s Included
-All glass, materials, and tools
-Step-by-step demonstrations for each stage of the process
-One-on-one guidance throughout the workshop
-Use of safety equipment, including: Nitrile gloves, Protective eyewear, Aprons, and Lead-removing wipes and soap
Health & Safety
This workshop involves the use of lead solder and flux. Safety procedures will be reviewed at the beginning of class, and all required protective equipment will be provided.

Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure a smooth start. Class will begin promptly. Early arrival allows time to settle in, select your project, and make the most of our time together.
