Mending looms can take some of the pain out of mending, but they can also be intimidating if you've never used them before. There are a variety of brands to choose from - do you go for modern or vintage? Cheap or pricey?

Come have a go at this workshop, where'll you have a chance to try modern and vintage looms, plus get instructions to make some decorative designs.

All tools and materials are provided for use during the session, though if you already have a loom you're welcome to bring it along!

1 x Milward Mini Weaving Loom

1 x Mystery cheap modern loom
4 x Speedweve Model 1
3 x Speedweve Model 2
2 x Speedarner from Ministry of Mending

I'll have embroidery thread, perle cotton, and various wools to try; scrap fabric to try out designs; plus lots of examples to give you an idea of what you can do.

During the session I'll walk you through:

- Prepping your fabric - deciding if a loom is the best option for your mend
- Setting up the loom
- Stitching the warp
- Weaving the weft
- Removing the loom & finishing
- Design options

We should have enough time to do a few designs. I hope! That's part of the reason this is a trial.
