Welcome to Prairie Point Elementary! We are so happy to begin this journey with you and your new student. At Prairie Point, we pride ourselves on being lifelong learners who are safe, kind, and
responsible, and we can’t wait to welcome our newest Panthers to the building.
 
This transition to elementary school is an exciting milestone. Our goal for this evening is to ensure that both you and your child feel connected, supported, and fully prepared for the first day of school. We look forward to building a strong partnership with you as your child is learning and growing here at school.

The Kindergarten Information Night is designed to replace the traditional "roundup" format with a more focused orientation specifically for our youngest learners and their families.
 
The purpose of this evening is to:

~Build Connections: Help students feel comfortable in their new classrooms and meet the teachers who will guide them.
~Clarify Logistics: Provide clear guidelines on the timeframe, structure, and daily procedures of our school.
~Share Essential Information:  Directly address "need-to-know" details regarding curriculum, schedules, contact information, school expectations, and health services.   
~Practice Success: Allow students to practice dismissal so they know exactly where they will be at the end of their first day.

Schedule:
*5:00-5:15pm: Supply Drop-Off + Classroom Preview Kindergarten Classrooms
*5:15-5:45pm: Parent Information Session (Community Room)
*5:15-5:45pm: Student Welcome Activity (students with teachers in the Kindergarten Classrooms)
*5:45-6:15pm: Teacher Presentation + Information (Kindergarten Classrooms)
*6:15-6:30pm: Guided Dismissal Practice (Dismissal Areas)

~This event is for incoming kindergartners and their parents/guardians only. Students in grades 1-5 will come on Tuesday, August 18 for the traditional Back to School Night/Supply Drop-Off. ~
