East Coast Swing is first and foremost a social dance that you learn to be able to dance with anyone, and to have fun!

The dance originated in the African-American community in Harlem in New York in the 1920s and 1930s and was danced to the pop music of the time; swing jazz, more specifically big band jazz.

Swing is energetic and has a lot of rhythms. Both in dance and in music, individuality and improvisation are important elements. In swing, both dancers are equally important in the partnership, and the music is often referred to as the third partner.

Meet our instructor: 
Santino er en profesjonell danser, koreograf og TV-personlighet. Han har vært en del av Skal vi danse på TV 2 siden 2019, og deltar nå i sin sjette sesong som profesjonell danser. I 2025 deltok han også i Let’s Dance i Sverige, og har tidligere vært koreograf og danser under åpningen av Melodi Grand Prix. Santino har i tillegg vært med i Sistemann ut og gjestet som dommer i Camp Culinaris.

Med over 275 000 følgere på TikTok og 37 500 på Instagram har han etablert seg som en av Skandinavias mest synlige danseprofiler. Han underviser i dans, holder workshops og leverer show både i Norge og internasjonalt – alltid med lidenskap, presisjon og ekte danseglede.
