Red Bull Cliff Diving Oslo, NOR, 13 August | Event in Oslo | AllEvents.in Red Bull Cliff Diving Oslo, NOR

?Random fact: Walking on the Opera roof has become an attraction in itself.

Since the few lucky ones that had been part of the World Series Exhibition in the Norwegian capital in 2021 told their fellow divers of the sheer endless walk over the 30m long platform, the stop in Oslo has been eagerly awaited. Nowhere else is the walk to the edge of the platform longer than the drop down.

The final stage of the capital city tour and the second half of the Scandinavian double marks a premiere on the calendar. Eight years ago, it was the charming little town of Kragerø that played host to the world’s best cliff divers, and now they will have the chance to dazzle their fans right in the heart of the country’s largest city.

The Oslo Opera House, home of the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet and the national opera theatre, provides the platform for the athletes as the battle for the King Kahekili Trophy heats up. It is the first time the building will be used for a sports competition.

One of the most wonderful things about Norwegian nature is that it is free and accessible to everyone. The new Opera House, which was inaugurated in 2008, is an extension of that idea, and the roof rises like an iceberg at the head of the Oslo fjord.

The angled exterior surfaces of the building are covered with marble from Italy and make it appear to rise from the water, and the sight of cliff divers descending majestically into the fjord will only serve to enhance an already picturesque scene.

The roof of the building angles to ground level, creating a large plaza that invites pedestrians to walk up and enjoy the panoramic views of Oslo. It is also an amphitheater and provides a perfect view of the outdoor scene. Here, there are many events such as concerts and outdoor performances during the summer season.

In the summer of 2022, it will be 12 women and 12 men who leave the viewers in awe when they put on their very own spectacular outdoor performance from up to 27m.
