Hvordan påvirker det som skjer i Palestina måten muslimer blir sett og behandlet på i resten av verden — også i Norge?
Denne kvelden inviterer vi til en viktig og aktuell samtale om islamofobi, medias fortellinger og politikk, og hvilke konsekvenser dette får for vanlige menneskers liv, trygghet og psykiske helse. Gjennom foredrag og panelsamtale ønsker vi å skape forståelse, refleksjon og rom for spørsmål.

Vi får besøk av Dr. Tarek Younis, Racial Justice Researcher ved Healing Justice London og Senior Lecturer i psykologi ved Middlesex University. Han forsker på islamofobi, rasisme i psykisk helsevern og hvordan sikkerhets- og antiterrorpolitikk påvirker muslimers liv. Som klinisk psykolog arbeider han særlig med erfaringer knyttet til rasisme, statlig vold og marginalisering. Han er også forfatter av boken The Muslim, State and Mind: Psychology in Times of Islamophobia.

Sammen med norske fagpersoner går vi dypere inn i temaer som normalisering av anti-muslimsk retorikk, vold og avhumanisering — og hvordan dette henger sammen globalt.

Arrangementet passer både for deg som er nysgjerrig, engasjert eller bare ønsker å forstå mer av tiden vi lever i.

Det blir også anledning til å sitte sammen, spise og snakke videre etter programmet.

I forbindelse med Ramadan vil det bli tilrettelagt for iftar (fastemåltid) og bønn i pausen.
