Cooking in the Kitchen - Christmas Pudding in a Can

During the early 1930s, an era of austerity, the Canadian war & peace pudding was revived.

An ideal recipe for those with holiday food budgets today!
During the depression years, families returned to the many recipes of the first world war, and reintroduced this pudding recipe to their household, having it become a holiday staple and core food memory for many families. This steamed pudding is chock full of unexpected ingredients, and tastes like spicy, holiday comfort.

Join Samantha, Parkwood Curator as the Canadian pudding in a can is discussed, and your very own version will go home with you for steaming and devouring. Ages 12+
Each participant is asked to bring with them a washed and dried #3 can. A #3 can holds 51 ounces (57.6 oz) or 4 1/4 cups.

No suet or nuts are used in this recipe.
Suitable for vegetarians and those with nut allergies.

Participants must be aged 12+. Chaperones must also purchase a ticket to attend.
