Meet at the pavilion by the fishing pond at the Osage Beach City Park. There is plenty of parking.

Please register with donation.  Spots are limited to 15 people to ensure the group can stick together and hear everything.  There will also be a Sunday walk if you can't attend on Thursday.

•	Guide: Jen Morgan, a forager & hobby herbalist with 6 years of experience, certified to identify and sell wild mushrooms, specializing in Ozark edible and herbal plants.
•	Focus: Identification of spring plants, their culinary and/or purported medicinal benefits, and recognition of toxic/noxious species.
•	Terrain: We will be using primitive paths, with challenging terrain including steep hills, rocky ridges, and soggy bottom areas.
•	Preparation: Wear sturdy, appropriate clothing/footwear and take precautions against ticks. Bring water or another beverage; don’t forget to take out anything you take into the woods!


Foraging in the Ozarks
•	Spring Focus: The walk will highlight early-season growth, which may include wild greens, early roots, and spring mushroom species.
•	Medicinal & Edible Plants: Experience the spring ephemerals as they emerge, ranging from small edible flowers to medicinal invasive plants.
•	Ethical Wildcrafting: The walk emphasizes sustainable harvesting for food and herbal medicine.
•	Safety Notice: Always ensure 100% positive identification before consuming any wild plant, as toxic species can sometimes mimic edible ones. Each person is responsible for any plants or materials that they consume. 
•	Collecting: Due to the size of the group, we will not be collecting any plants during this walk.
