Now in its 18th year, this free, one-day event, organised by the Events Team at Edge Hill University, will provide updates on the changing HE landscape and offer the chance to share experiences and good practice with colleagues who deliver post-16 information, advice, and guidance across a wide range of school and college settings.This conference is designed for all teachers and careers advisers working in post-16 education. Professionals and practitioners from the HE sector will be available throughout the plenary and workshop sessions to equip you with up-to-date, essential information to support your practice.New for 2026: A dedicated focus on subject area sessions, giving delegates the opportunity to explore discipline-specific guidance and insights directly with subject tutors.In addition to keynote speeches, plenary sessions, and a complimentary networking lunch, delegates will be able to select workshops of interest and engage with subject tutors and support services across the University. The programme will combine subject-focused sessions with broader policy updates and CPD workshops, ensuring a balance of practical guidance and sector-wide context. Subject Focus: PsychologyHost: Department of PsychologyInfo: This session will provide an overview of our courses, the department and the varied career pathways psychology graduates follow. The presentation will be followed by a guided tour and demonstrations of our specialist facilities such as eye trackers, brain stimulation and monitoring equipment to examine cognitive function and brain activity and our bar simulation facility used in alcohol research. This session will provide an overview to help you understand the distinctions between each to support your students in making the right choices for them. You'll also hear about  how students gain hands on experience, work based learning opportunities and our links with local and national teams and governing bodies which enhance students' studies and employability. Connecting Students to Societies: Guidance for EducatorsHost: Student's UnionInfo: This session will explore the role of student societies in enriching the university experience and supporting personal and professional development. Educators and advisers will hear directly from the Students’ Union team and selected societies, with opportunities to ask questions in a live Q&A panel. The session will highlight how societies foster skills, community, and career‑relevant experiences, and how teachers and careers advisers can guide students to make the most of these opportunities.🕑: 10:45 AM - 11:45 AMH. Supporting Your Students' Transition to HEHost: EHU Careers TeamInfo: This session will focus on how teachers and advisers can best support students as they prepare for the transition to higher education. The Careers Team will share practical guidance, highlight common challenges students face, and outline strategies to build confidence and readiness. Attendees will gain insight into the resources available to help students navigate this important stage and succeed in their journey to university life.🕑: 10:45 AM - 11:45 AMI. Understanding the Student Journey: From Application to Graduation & BeyondHost: Education Liaison OfficersInfo: This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the student journey, from the initial application stage through to graduation and beyond.
