- **Event Description**: Learn how to use iNaturalist and your phone camera to make nature observations that can contribute to scientific research!About this EventiNaturalist is a wonderful resource to document the biodiversity of our planet, using just the camera on your phone.Join Ranger Val and Ecology Ellie for this beginner-friendly bioblitz that is aimed at helping newer iNaturalist users feel confident making observations on the iNaturalist app.During this event, we will begin with a short briefing about iNaturalist, and then we will go on a short hike to document all the plants, animals, and fungi we can find.Participants will need to download the iNaturalist app and make an account prior to signing up for the event. We will ask for your iNaturalist handle at checkout.Please also come prepared to walk up to 1-2 miles on uneven terrain in varying weather conditions. We recommend bringing sun and insect protection, water and snacks, and anything else you need to be comfortable.This event is targeted toward iNaturalist newbies who have fewer than 100 observations.Once you have more than 1000 observations, you are welcome to participate in this event as a mentor!ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:This event is not being run by the Ormond Beach Environmental Discovery Center.
