In this workshop, you will learn how to make a miniature Ikebana arrangement that expresses simplicity, seasonality, movement and harmony, which are all important qualities of Ikebana.Ikebana, is a national Japanese treasure, which is over 500 years old. You will also learn about the history of Ikebana and the traditional tools used for creating Ikebana arrangements.All Dried floral materials and a miniature ceramic vase will be provided.Please bring branch cutters and/or scissors to use in this classIrene Gomulka has given numerous, demonstrations and taught Ikebana classes at Leu Gardens, Epcot, Mennello Museum, multiple Garden Clubs and teaches ongoing workshops. Irene is a licensed instructor in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana in Japan. She is the current vice-president of the Ikebana International Chapter in Orlando and the Chairperson of the Sogetsu Orlando Study Group. Irene is a recent recipient of the Ikebana Iwaya Fund’s Memorial Teaching Scholarship.Participants must withdraw from classes at least 5 days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit.Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom.
