Celebrate the Holiday Season with the Orillia Silver Band!
Sleigh Bells and Brass Christmas Concert
The Orillia Silver Band celebrates the holiday season with its traditional Sleigh Bells and Brass Christmas Concert. The concert takes place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, 2:00 pm at the Orillia Opera House. Concert tickets are available from the Orillia Opera House Box Office.
Neil Barlow, the band’s Music Director and Conductor has made sure that there is plenty of holiday cheer on offer. The band will feature both new and traditional music of the season, with ample opportunity to sing your favourite carols.
The concert opens with the festive and sparkling A Christmas Intrada by David Roswell. Among the musical items to be performed this year are Alfred Reed’s beautiful Russian Christmas Music (a real showcase for festive percussion); the majestic and exciting Christmas Suite by Stephen Bulla; the modern classic Christmas Song by Mel Torme; a beautiful treatment of the ancient German carol Stille, Stille Stille by James Curnow; and a truly engaging medley of holiday songs in swing style - A Glenn Miller Christmas.
The performance will feature a beautiful arrangement of O Holy Night featuring our euphonium soloist – Michael Fraser. And the band will perform the modern Christmas favourite for voice by Eric Whitacre – Lux Aurumque. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Silver Band Christmas concert without an audience-request sing-a-long. So come prepared to exercise your vocal skills with your favourite Christmas carols.
