Follow Penthelia SingersA vibrant ensemble of women, Penthelia Singers is committed to excellence in performing a culturally diverse and musically sophisticated repertoire spanning the Renaissance to the 21st century. Founded in 1997 by alumnae of the Earl Haig Girls Chamber Choir, the group is named after the ancient Egyptian priestess-musician, Penthelia.The choir has earned a reputation for presenting innovative concerts of four to eight part choral repertoire in a multitude of languages. Costumes, inventive concert venues and unique programming create an original and engaging concert experience. Part of Penthelia Singers mission is to provide singers and audiences alike, opportunities for musical and personal growth through participation in concerts, festivals, and musical collaborations. The choir aims to demonstrate the diversity of choral music and to cross ethnic and cultural boundaries by reaching out to and connecting with their community through music. The choir strives to stimulate and challenge both themselves and their audiences, and to promote contemporary choral music by talented Canadian composers.
