The New Jersey Conference Lay Council consists of two presiding elder districts, Jersey City district under the leadership of Presiding Elder, Rev. Dr. Odinga Maddox II and the Camden District, led by Presiding Elder, Rev. Maurice Daniels. Our Conference President is Mrs. Dorothea "Dottie" Stevens who has established an amazing culture of "Laity & Clergy Hand in Hand". The Laity of NJ work diligently alongside of our clergy leadership promoting Evangelism, Encouragement & Edification as carved out by the Connectional Lay Council of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church under the leadership of Dr. Joseph K Davis, Jr. and the Board of Bishops.
