Follow District 1 EMS Stroke CommitteeDistrict 1 EMS Council of Northwest Florida is comprised of Hospital and Prehospital EMS BLS and ALS Providers, Fire Based ALS Providers and Helicopter programs. The council is located in the Northwest Florida Panhandle and consists of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton Counties. District 1 has two Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers located at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola and HCA Florida West Hospital. There is also 3 Primary Stroke Centers located at Baptist Health Care Pensacola, HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital and North Okaloosa Medical Center and one Acute Stroke Ready Stroke Center at HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital. Our District is also represented by a Level 1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team (FL-1) The purpose of District 1 is to provide a district wide collection of pre-hospital resources and to provide help and guidance to all activities, organizations and parties that wish to improve or promote emergency medical services in Northwest Florida. Members Include: Hospitals : Ascension Sacred Heart, Baptist Health Care , Gulf Breeze Hospital, HCA FL Fort Walton-Destin Hospital, HCA Twin Cities Hospital , HCA FL West Hospital, Navy Hospital , North Okaloosa Medical Center, and Santa Rosa Medical Center. Air Medical Providers: Air Methods and ShandsCair/Med Trans EMS Providers: Escambia County EMS , Lifeguard Ambulance , Okaloosa County EMS , South Walton Fire District and Walton County EMS Other: Florida 1 DMAT Schools: Northwest Florida State College and Pensacola State College
