$10 Observer | $20 Participating Singer
The Voice Program at SCERA is expanding to include a series of Master Classes in Voice, to be taught by well-known singers and teachers in the area. Each class will have a limited enrollment of 20 for a more personal experience, and will feature topics about performance.
The class on February 6 will be taught by Dr. Arden Hopkin, Emeritus Professor of Voice at BYU and current Director of Progressive Voice Training at SCERA. He will focus on developing the singer’s third line. The first line is the song text, the second line is the music, the third line is what the singer brings to the song.
The class on March 6 will be led by Mindy Smoot Robbins, well-known singer and Director of Utah COPA. She will focus on mapping a song for vocal colors.
The final class on April 17 will be led by Dallyn Vail Bayles, well-known singer and actor and co-director of Utah COPA. He will discuss the psycho-physical approach to singing.
