The Grey Matter Gala - In Memory of Phillip Coleman
A charity event hosted by the Coleman Family.
Phil battled Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) for almost 19 months and the initial diagnosis was incurable and terminal. Phil faced brain surgery, where they removed 70% of the mass, followed by weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. He faced a number of challenges throughout his battle but he always found time for a joke or a laugh. On the 29th March 2025, Phil, aged 56, lost his very courageous battle with GBM, forever altering the lives which we knew.
In 2024 & 2025, Phillip's daughter Brooke joined The Big Three Trek, walking 150km from Sydney to Newcastle to raise vital funds for the Mark Hughes Foundation and brain cancer research. She will again join the BTT in 2026, with all funds raised from The Grey Matter Gala going towards Brooke's 2026 trek and the MHF.
Please join us for a night out to remember our mate Phil. We also remember those that have lost their battle to brain cancer and those that are still battling. One day, may we find a cure to brain cancer so that others do not have to face our reality.
The night will include dinner & drinks, live entertainment, raffle, silent auction & games.
