We ask all residents and event attendees kindly to avoid leaving parked cars on the roads affected by the march route because this can cause disruption for the marchers, some of whom are carrying large instruments and require ample space around them to stay in formation. The following road closures will be in place: β›” Kent Street β›” Fleming Avenue (between Kent Street and George Street West) β›” A section of George Street West β›” A section of Gledhill Way β›” A section of Queens Park Road πŸ”” City of Canning March Route Starting at 7.45am (road closures from 7am) This year at 7.45am the March will commence from Kent Street and follow the road up to Fleming Avenue round to George Street West - finishing in the Civic Amphitheatre. The Service will then commence at 8.00 am. πŸ”” City of Canning Service Starting at 8.00am The service commencing at 8am, will run for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and will feature the Canning City Brass Band, Rossmoyne Community Choir, Wairua Tipuna and Fremantle Pipes & Drums. It will also include a wreath laying ceremony. πŸ”” Event Parking There will be parking available at the City’s Administration building, Civic Amphitheatre and Gardens and off George Street West. However, we are unable to offer parking at Kent Street Weir for anyone other than the marchers after 7am until the road opens again. πŸ”” Important Information - Wreath Laying: If you would like to lay a wreath you must be added to the wreath laying list. Please email the City Major Events Team at events@canning.wa.gov.au so that drop-off can be coordinated with you along with the ceremonial aspects of the laying.
