Joining them is saxophonist Brad Walker, one of the most in-demand horn players in New Orleans, whose soaring solos have been heard everywhere from Saturday Night Live to Grammy stages and major touring acts. Three remarkable musicians, one intimate night of music at The Whirlybird. ⸻ Cindy Scott Cindy Scott is widely respected as a “singer’s singer,” known for her expressive voice, deep musical sensitivity, and fearless improvisation. Raised in Tupelo, Mississippi and steeped in gospel, jazz, and Southern roots music, she began singing in family jam sessions before she could read. Scott is a vocalist, flutist, guitarist, composer, and lyricist who has released four acclaimed albums and performs internationally. She also serves as an Associate Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music. ⸻ Brian Seeger Brian Seeger is one of New Orleans’ most respected jazz guitarists, known for his warm tone, lyrical improvisation, and deep grounding in blues and American roots music. A longtime member of the city’s vibrant jazz scene, he has performed and recorded with artists including Aaron Neville, Jason Marsalis, Stanton Moore, and Charlie Hunter. Seeger is also a composer, producer, and Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of New Orleans, where he holds the Coca-Cola Endowed Chair in Jazz Studies. ⸻ Brad Walker Saxophonist Brad Walker is one of the most sought-after performers in New Orleans. His powerful and expressive playing has been featured on national stages including Saturday Night Live, the Grammy Awards, and The Tonight Show with Sturgill Simpson. As a bandleader he has released seven albums and received multiple OffBeat “Best of the Beat” nominations.
